Three Beautiful Lips began with a bang in the summer of 2024, winning the “Champion” title for 10 consecutive weeks at Rise Comedy’s longest-running, competitive cage match improv show, The Duel. Since then, they’ve been storming a variety of stages around the Denver metro area, bringing joy and belly-laughs to their audiences and to themselves.
INDIVIDUALLY
Anatasha Blakely is an actor, filmmaker, and comedian. She has performed at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre (Richard III), Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the Utah Shakespeare Festival. She studied at Southern Utah University (B.F.A. Classical Acting), iO West, The School for Theatre Creators and Clown Church. Anatasha is the creator of an L.A. based improv ensemble called Stormchaser (The Stormchaser Improv Podcast Show) and a comedy duo, Buddy Puzzle (@buddypuzzle). Anatasha won best actress in a short at Filmquest, the Houston Horror Film Festival, and HorroHaus for her performance in “Inch Thick, Knee Deep” which she also wrote and directed. Melissa Schenter Connor hails from the Pacific Northwest, where she earned a theater degree from Western Washington University. She has performed original plays at a wide range of Fringe Festivals, including in Edinburgh, Scotland, a variety of stops along the Canadian Fringe circuit, and at an American Chemical Society National Conference. Besides improv, she has training in Viewpoints, Devising, Forum Theater, Musical Theater, and Commedia dell’arte. She is a member of a number of improv teams in the Denver Metro Area, including Three Beautiful Lips, Mockumentary Now!, and Too Intense: Musical Improv. While not on stage, she can be found doing illustration and graphic design, playing board games, reading fantasy and sci-fi books, and talking to her cats and dog.
Mylène Van Zijl holds the record as the 2003 underwater basket weaving champion in the first division, an accomplishment not many women her age have achieved. Her interests include: bite-sized foods, new socks, gazing at the sunset with her dog, windshield wipers, improv, and watching her automatic air freshener go pssssshhhhht and frisbees shaped like squares.
